LESSONS
The First Lesson: A Prophet gives a sign. A virgin shall conceive and bear a child and he shall be named, Emmanuel, meaning: God with us. Isaiah 7:10-14
The Second Lesson: A Prophet declares a child shall come from Jesse’s line to return humanity to right relationship with God and creation to peace. Isaiah 11:1-10
The Third Lesson: A child shall be born in Bethlehem who is from ancient of days, a ruler of peace. Micah 5:2-5a
The Fourth Lesson: To an old barren couple the Angel Gabriel comes to announce that they will have a child who will prepare the way for the Lord. Luke 1:8-20
The Fifth Lesson: Gabriel announces to Mary, she shall conceive a child. Luke 1:26-35, 38
The Sixth Lesson: Mary goes to stay with her kinswoman Elizabeth who is in her sixth month and the child in her womb leaps for joy. Luke 1:39-45
The Seventh Lesson: Joseph and Mary travel to Bethlehem, a child is born, and Angels summon the first witnesses. Luke 2:1-15
The Eighth Lesson: The Eternal Word is spoken as a human word that all creation might know the love of God. John 1:1-5, 14,16-18
