The
Garden of Gethsemane, which is located upon
the Mount of Olives, was, in all probability,
the private garden of some friend of the Master's,
and a place where He frequently went to meditate
and to pray. It was a lonely place, as it
is today.
Earlier
in the night, Jesus had left His disciples
at the entrance to the garden. In this hour
of His deepest suffering, there appeared an
angel from heaven strengthening Him. Here
in the garden, the sinless Christ begins the
agonizing process of man's redemption from
sin by bringing His will into complete harmony
with that of the Heavenly Father. [Source:
