In 1936, The United Church of Canada ordained its first woman minster, Lyndia Emelie Gruchy. In 1918 women gained the right to vote federally, and many began taking more active roles in the church and society. In the 1920’s, many early United Church members supported social movements like temperance. Please join us on Sunday, June 8 aas we celebrate the 100th Anniversary of The United Church of Canada.
