Philippians 2:3 “…in humility value others above yourselves” Hello Kingsway-Lambton Friends, This year, Kingsway-Lambton received a special gift. One of our church family members wanted to express gratitude to our church volunteers, so with the help of UCW 8, she staged the Legendary Lightfoot Gratitude Concert as a thank you. We rocked the sanctuary on a September Friday evening. In his kick off words, Reverend Don quoted these lyrics from Gordon Lightfoot’s song: “The House You Live In”: The definition of pity is “compassion at the suffering of others”. Guess what? Compassion is one of Kingsway Lambton’s core values. Gordon Lightfoot’s lyric is true. Kingsway Lambton’s house is strong because of the compassionate service that our church family strives to give. On that note, our Thanksgiving Outreach Campaign begins. Let us help the strangers who stand at our gate: the hungry, the homeless, those needing support – youth, seniors, and those with addictions. All seven of our agencies* are right in our community, right at our gate. Compassionately yours, To Donate: With the ongoing Canada Post strike, we ask you to donate using the following methods: In Person – By using the pew envelopes on Sundays (indicate “Thanksgiving Outreach”), or by dropping a cheque (with memo “Thanksgiving Outreach”) in our mailbox at the glass door entrance or by dropping it off in the church office. By E-Transfer - Use finance@kingswaylambton.ca for the e-transfer address and include "Thanksgiving Outreach" and your name and address in the memo/note field. * Community Outreach supports the following agencies: Stonegate Ministries, Out of the Cold, Youth Without Shelter, Youth Unlimited, The Gatehouse, Parkdale Golden Age Foundation, and Lake Scugog. |
