Philippians 2:3  “…in humility value others above yourselves”

Hello Kingsway-Lambton Friends,

This year, Kingsway-Lambton received a special gift.  One of our church family members wanted to express gratitude to our church volunteers, so with the help of UCW 8, she staged the Legendary Lightfoot Gratitude Concert as a thank you.  We rocked the sanctuary on a September Friday evening.   In his kick off words, Reverend Don quoted these lyrics from Gordon Lightfoot’s song:

“The House You Live In”:
"And the house you live in will never fall down,
If you pity the stranger who stands at your gate."

The definition of pity is “compassion at the suffering of others”. Guess what? Compassion is one of Kingsway Lambton’s core values.   Gordon Lightfoot’s lyric is true. Kingsway Lambton’s house is strong because of the compassionate service that our church family strives to give.

On that note, our Thanksgiving Outreach Campaign begins.  Let us help the strangers who stand at our gate:  the hungry, the homeless, those needing support – youth, seniors, and those with addictions.  All seven of our agencies* are right in our community, right at our gate.
Please donate.

Compassionately yours,
Sandra
On behalf of the Outreach Team

Special Music

Special Music

On Sunday, Nov. 9th, we will be celebrating a Remembrance Day service here at KLUC.  This year our Children's Choir, along with our Chancel Choir, will be singing a new composition called A Reflection for Remembrance Day.  This piece was originally written by a Polish contemporary composer, Piotr Palka.  Mr. Palka gave us permission to edit the words of his composition to a general prayer for peace and to include a spoken word of messages of peace, recited by the children in different languages.  This song will be accompanied by the string youth orchestra from Etobicoke Collegiate Institute (ECI).

If you would like to join one of our choirs for this special celebration, please speak to Nathan or Paul.

We hope, although a solemn occasion,  this year's Remembrance Day service will be a special one for all of us to partake in.

Paul Wisniewski - Organist/Pianist
