Be doers of the word, and not hearers only." James 1:22 Kingsway-Lambton seeks to live out the message by being "doers" of the Word. Several groups within our church engage with and support groups outside our church. We do this by raising funds for and providing non-financial support to these 7 charities: Out of the Cold, Lake Scugog, The Gatehouse, Youth Without Shelter, Youth Unlimited, Stonegate Ministry, and Parkdale Golden Age Foundation.

Out of the Cold at All Saints

Out of the Cold Dinners - February 9, 2024 and Friday March 1, 2024
Kingsway Lambton hosts Out of the Cold Dinner - Join us as we prepare a dinner of roast beef and mashed potatoes in our Kingsway Lambton kitchen during the day on Friday, February 9 and Friday, March 1 and then bring it to All Saints Anglican Church, our local Out of the Cold host church, where we serve over 100 meals to those in need.   All Saints has an Out of the Cold infrastructure that also provides showers, extra clothing, and after dinner activities every Friday evening.   Kingsway Lambton’s funding for the OOTC program comes from donations to our Easter and Thanksgiving Outreach campaigns.

The Coldest Night of the Year

On Saturday, February 24, 2024, from 9:30am – 11:00am, Kingsway-Lambton will be participating in the 2024 Coldest Night of the Year event by doing a short and local 2 km walk in support of our friends at Connect City Ministries. They are helping vulnerable people - displaced families, both homeless and newcomer refugees, and youth in government housing. Ukrainian Newcomer Task Force

In Summer 2022, this task force, in partnership with a townhouse developer in Brampton, quickly set up homes for Ukrainian newcomers. Four townhomes were outfitted with donated furniture, bedding, kitchen acoutrements, etc. Financial donations poured in to cover rent for 3 months on all 4 homes ($48,000!). In all, 31 people from Ukraine across 6 families are happily settled in Brampton because of these efforts. To hear a thank you message, Watch Video  In January 2023, there was an additional drive for ice skates and helmets for this group and 60 pairs of skates were donated.

Benevolent Fund

The Benevolent Fund is administered by the Coordinating Minister to provide emergency assistance to people in need or to agencies that serve those in crisis. The congregation is asked to support this fund annually during the Christmas season.

Pancake Suppers

Our community-welcoming pancake supper returned in person this year on Tuesday, Feb. 21. The Men's Group cooked up and served to a great crowd fresh pancakes, sausages, real maple syrup, fruit, dessert, and coffee/tea.

Honduras Mission

Members of our church serve on the El Hogar Board, collect needed items for El Hogar, and volunteer at, and support El Hogar through annual mission trips.

Mission & Service (M&S)

At Kingsway Lambton, members may designate an amount towards the United Church of Canada's M&S Fund as part of their annual pledge and on their offering envelopes throughout the year. These funds go to support ministries and programs in Canada and around the world. For details, click here.

United Church Women (UCW)

The UCW oversees fundraising events such as the Flea Market and Art Show, as well as ongoing initiatives such as funeral catering. With the funds raised, the UCW supports several local, regional, and national charities. Some of the funds raised are used to assist with the finances of the church.

The Warmth Initiative

The Warmth initiative was an overwhelming success again this year with more than 100 large bags of warm clothing generously donated by members of the community and our congregation!  The donations were delivered to charities that help people that are experiencing homelessness and poverty.  The charities were delighted and so thankful to receive the much needed warm clothing. A special thanks goes to the volunteer team of over 20 members of our congregation who helped sort, bag and deliver the mountain of clothing!
