United Church Women (UCW) is an organization which provides Christian fellowship, friendship and support to women in our church and to the community.
The UCW is strongly committed to supporting those in need in our community and oversees a number of fundraising events every year, the largest being the Flea Market and Art Show & Sale. Our newest project, on until February 10, 2022, is the sale of home-made soups. This project is a pivot from our pre-Covid "Souper Bowl" fundraiser in which the congregation shared a pre-game luncheon. Three delicious soups are on offer - click here for more information.
A small portion of the funds raised by UCW goes to support the operations of the church and the lion's share is donated to a broad range of charities, most of which provide shelter and support to women and children, youth, and men, and to those living with homelessness. For more information and a list of charities supported, click here.
There are several ways to get involved in the UCW. You could join a Unit in which you know someone, or you can attend meetings held by different Units to find one that suits you best. You can participate as much as your schedule allows. Come to every meeting or activity, or come periodically just to enjoy an evening or afternoon with friends.
If you'd like more information or are interested in joining, contact the UCW through the church office at firstname.lastname@example.org (please put "UCW" in the subject line). We'd love to hear from you.
