Vulnerability is one of the most challenging things for anyone to do in community. Being open about our grief and pain with others, and holding space for the pain of others, is not an easy task for anyone. But what happens when we let our guards down? Can we like what we see? And can we show that side of ourselves to God?
About our speaker: Rev. Roberta Howey is the Young Adults and Pastoral Care minister of Lawrence Park Community Church, a UCC community near Sunnybrook Hospital. Born and raised in Toronto, she was ordained in 2018 in the United Church of Canada. Roberta has served in churches throughout north Toronto, including Manor Road and Rosedale United Churches. She also earned her Masters of Pastoral Studies in 2025 with spiritual care internships in Scarborough General Hospital and UHN. She lives in St. James Town with her husband, Greg, and cats, Panko and Quinoa.
