Due to COVID-19, Fresh Start services are being held via Zoom videoconference. The link is live at 8:30 am, the service begins at 8:45 and concludes at 9:30. The log-in info is provided on Fridays by e-blast. On the HOME page, you'll find a recorded version of the most recently-held service.

The music is provided by Ian Grundy and our new interim presiding minister is Rev. Sam Needham, who provides a relaxed and friendly feel. Fresh Start also engages the unique perspectives and faith of wonderful guest preachers. Here are some of the awesome ones we have lined-up for Winter 2021:

In its previous life...

Fresh Start is an early morning Sunday service that has a modern, informal style. Doors open at 8:10, with coffee and snacks in the sanctuary to help you start your day. We begin at 8:30, and end at 9:15, with lots of time for coffee and conversation afterwards.

The service is popular among early risers, including parents with small children, and parents with teenagers, who are at home sleeping in. It also appeals to people who like the idea of having church finished early in the day. We have child care in our nursery downstairs.

Fresh Start's music is provided by Ian Grundy, and leans towards a more contemporary sound - old favourites and more modern hymns. (To get a taste of the music see the video below, a tribute to the passing of Aretha Franklin).

The service is designed to be more interactive than traditional services. Ministers give a shorter sermon, and then there is time for an engaging discussion among congregants. After, ministers are available for casual Q&A, over coffee and snacks.  Our presiding minister is Rev. Sam Needham, who provides a relaxed and friendly feel. The service also has frequent guest preachers, drawn from inside and outside our church family.

If you’d like to get a taste of the service, please check out our videos here, and on our Kingsway-Lambton United Church YouTube channel. You can also receive regular updates on Facebook (freshstartsundays) and our Instagram (@freshstart.kluc). We hope you’ll try us out some Sunday.
