Every night there are over 10,000 people that are homeless in our city. As winter closes in, we started The Warmth Initiative so our Kingsway Lambton community can lend a helping hand.
THE NEED
Over the past two weeks we’ve received many generous donations, so some of our needs are now covered. However, to finish off our target of donating 500 Hygiene Kits, we still urgently need many more of the following toiletry items: (small or hotel sizes preferred, regular sizes OK, but please no jumbo sizes!)
- Hand sanitizer
- Shampoo
- Body lotion
- Combs & brushes
- Lip balm
So if you are able, please add a bunch of these items in to your grocery or drug store purchases this week to help out the cause (some people are planning to use their retail reward points!)
Additionally, we are still gratefully accepting Warmth Items For Adults & Kids including gently used socks, toques, scarves, mittens, gloves, warm coats and new cotton underwear.
We plan to distribute the Warmth Initiative care packages to the charitable organizations next week and as such, want to receive donations by this Friday, November 20th.
WHERE TO TAKE DONATIONS?
You can drop individual donations to Kingsway Lambton Church in the bin outside the glass door, during normal business hours. If you have a larger donation to drop off, please contact Santiago Duque at santiago@kingswaylambton.ca or call 1-416-234-8224 ext. 36 to arrange a drop-off time.
Alternatively, items can be dropped at Gibson’s Cleaners, in the Warmth Initiative Bin at the back loading dock door weekdays from 8:30am to 4:30pm.
If you can’t drop your items off, let us know at the email address below and we will arrange a pick-up.
